About Wayne Ale House & Pizza in Wayne, NJ

611 Ratzer Road

A look around the place

The pies, the wings, the bar and the room. Every photo is ours, taken here.

Wayne Ale House is not your typical bar and pizza joint, and the 24 inch pie is usually the first clue. Hand tossed pizzas cooked well done, wings slow baked for three hours then flash fried in beef tallow, sandwiches on brioche and a bar that takes its cocktail list as seriously as its drafts.

The building gives you room to pick your night. Two floors, two bars, and more than 40 TVs carrying NFL Sunday Ticket and the big games. Downstairs for dinner, upstairs when the group gets bigger, the bar when the game matters.

In February 2025, Dave Portnoy walked in, tried the pizza and gave it a 7.6 on One Bite. That story has its own page.

Wayne Ale House comes from the same owner as Little Falls Tavern, one town over. Same standards, different room.

What the room is actually like

Two floors and two bars. Downstairs runs like a pizzeria that happens to have a serious beer list, upstairs takes the overflow and the parties, and on a Sunday in season both are pointed at the football. More than forty screens between them, which sounds like a number until a table of eight all want different games.

The kitchen is the part people underrate. Everything is made in the building and the fried food goes in beef tallow, which is not a trend here, it is just how it has always been done. The 24 inch is the one that gets photographed, but the wings slow bake for three hours before a flash fry, and that is the order regulars actually repeat.

Wayne Ale House on a party night and a game day

The upstairs room takes birthdays, work nights and watch parties, and the parties page starts that with three questions. On NFL Sundays both floors run the games on more than forty screens with Sunday Ticket.

None of it is complicated. Wayne Ale House is a room built for a long table, a big pie and a game on somewhere behind you, and the kitchen stays open until eleven every night. People come for the pizza, stay for the wings, and end up back on a Wednesday for the bingo.

If you have never been, a first visit is easiest on a weeknight before nine. Park in the lot, take a table downstairs, and order the knots while you decide on the rest.
